Meet Student Highlight – NaFeesa Fareed
NaFeesa Fareed is our student highlight feature for this week here at Boardman Training Center!
NaFeesa is currently attending the Cardio Phlebotomy program at BTC, preparing for an exciting new career in healthcare. While enrolled in this accelerated program, NaFeesa will learn valuable skills, including performing EKGs, drawing blood, controlling infections, and practicing fundamental patient care.
In addition to gaining an understanding of these skills through classroom instruction, NaFeesa will get to practice these skills in a hands-on environment. Getting the opportunity to practice her skills is important so that NaFeesa will be prepared and confident to perform them on the job when she starts her new career.
Before deciding to attend Boardman Training Center, NaFeesa went to college, but she did not like it. She was also working at a job.
NaFeesa was looking for a school that would work for her. “I did my research, and it seemed like the right school for me,” said NaFeesa.
While training for a new healthcare career in her cardio phlebotomy classes, NaFeesa will also prepare for two valuable healthcare certifications, including Certified Phlebotomy Technician* and Certified EKG Technician*.
“I love the medical field,” said NaFeesa when asked why she chose the Cardio Phlebotomy program at Boardman Training Center. After she completes her program, NaFeesa will have the opportunity to work in a variety of medical facilities, such as hospitals, doctor’s offices, long-term care facilities, outpatient centers, emergency rooms, and more.
When asked what her favorite part is of attending Boardman Training Center, NaFeesa said, “I feel like I’m actually learning, and the classmates are so helpful.”
NaFeesa says that Sandy and Maurissa have been her favorite teachers so far at BTC. “Sandy and Maurissa are very great. Maurissa has been super helpful,” said NaFeesa.
After graduation, NaFeesa wants to work in a doctor’s office. In five years, she would like to be working as a medical assistant.
When asked if she would refer Boardman Training Center to a friend, NaFeesa said, “Yes, it’s a great school. Everyone is so helpful and understanding. I’m so grateful.”
