About Boardman Training Center
Boardman Training Center (BTC) is a short-term healthcare learning center of East Ohio College. Located in Boardman, Ohio, BTC offers accelerated training to students in Northeastern Ohio, Northern West Virginia, and Western Pennsylvania. The Boardman Training Center was established in 2013, where classes took place at Boardman High School. Then, BTC relocated to its facility conveniently located on Ohio Route 224 in 2016.

Boardman Training Center understands that students want to gain the skills, knowledge, and experience to begin their new healthcare careers quickly. So, we strive to provide each student with a positive educational experience to prepare them for their new careers. With many benefits, including flexible financing, day and evening classes, certification* preparation, individualized attention, smaller class sizes, and more, students who complete a BTC healthcare training program can expect support from the first time they reach out through graduation.
Students in any of BTC’s accelerated healthcare programs will benefit from didactic courses, hands-on labs, and certification* preparation in their chosen field. Our Programs
Boardman Training Center has been trusted to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary for healthcare careers for over a decade. As industries change, it is crucial that career training programs also evolve. BTC meets the needs of local healthcare employers by providing students with up-to-date training in the following fields.
Medical Assisting
BTC’s 12-week Medical Assisting program is designed to prepare students to become medical assistants with skills in hands-on patient care, including injections, vital signs, suture removal, visual acuity tests, and more. They will also possess knowledge of medical terminology, patient identification, infection control, and anatomy and physiology. Additionally, students in this program will be prepared to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) certification* exams.
Cardio Phlebotomy
In only 24 weeks, Boardman Training Center’s Cardio Phlebotomy program students will be prepared for careers as cardio phlebotomy technicians. Cardio phlebotomy technicians possess many skills, including blood drawing, controlling infections, patient charting, proper equipment use, performing EKGs, and more. In addition, students who complete the cardio phlebotomy training program will be prepared to sit for the NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and Certified EKG Technician (CET) certification* exams.
EKG Technician
Students with a goal to become an EKG technician will benefit from BTC’s 12-week EKG Technician program. They will be prepared with skills in reading normal and abnormal EKG recordings, using heart monitors, identifying basic waveform morphology, distinguishing between dysrhythmias, and more. After completing the EKG Technician program, students will be prepared to sit for the NHA Certified EKG Technician (CET) certification* exam.
Phlebotomy Technician
Boardman Training Center’s 12-week Phlebotomy Technician program is an ideal option for those seeking entry-level positions in phlebotomy. Completing the phlebotomy training program will equip students with skills in skin puncture techniques, specimen collection, basic phlebotomy skills, proper equipment usage, and more. Additionally, BTC’s accelerated phlebotomy technician training will prepare students to sit for the NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification* exam.
Medical Billing and Coding
The 12-week Medical Billing and Coding program at BTC equips students with the basics of a medical billing and coding career without years of schooling. Knowledge students will receive in this program includes basic medical coding, medical claims fraud, billing compliance, and inpatient and outpatient coding within ICD-10 standards. Upon competition of the medical billing and coding training program, students will be prepared to sit for the NHA Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) certification* exam.
