Danielle Larosa is the Campus Director at Boardman Training Center located in Boardman, Ohio. Danielle started the campus over six years ago in April of 2013. The training center began holding classes in the local Boardman High School which happened to be the high school Danielle attended. The campus now offers multiple 24-week programs with numerous staff members.
Prior to working at Boardman Training Center, Danielle started her career as a paramedic and attended Youngstown State University to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Applied Science and an Associate Degree in Allied Health. As a young child, Danielle lost her step-father, and her mom was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Danielle grew up at a young age and took pride in helping with her Mom’s medical needs and also enjoyed taking care of her younger siblings. Many people may think this was a burden, but Danielle embraced the challenge. “My experiences as a young adult helped me to become a more compassionate, caring person that enjoyed caring for people of all ages while teaching younger individuals about important aspects of life. I truly feel that my love for being a paramedic, working in the health field and teaching were all influenced by my experiences as a child and young adult.” Danielle loved working in the paramedic field so much that she became a Preceptor for Youngstown State’s University Paramedic Program as a skilled lab instructor after graduation. As much as Danielle enjoyed her time working for the paramedic program, a back injury and the birth of her children resulted in her making a career change and becoming a cardiac technician.
Ultimately, after a few years, Danielle missed teaching and encouraging students. When the opportunity to create a program from scratch came along, Danielle was up for the challenge. Now, six years later the Boardman Training Center is thriving and Danielle loves connecting with the students by bringing her life experiences in the classroom. She wants each student to know that they are not alone, things happen, life gets in the way, but they can do anything they put their mind too!
