Meet Morgan White, our graduate highlight for this week here at Boardman Training Center!
Morgan recently graduated from our Cardio Phlebotomy career training program and is ready to start an exciting new career in the healthcare field.
“I chose cardio phlebotomy because I like the certifications I would receive. It was affordable and convenient,” said Morgan.
While enrolled in cardio phlebotomy classes at BTC, students prepare for professional healthcare certifications, including Certified Phlebotomy Technician* and Certified EKG Technician*. Healthcare industry certifications like these show employers that you can perform your specific tasks and get the job done.
Morgan says she chose Boardman Training Center to prepare for these professional certifications because there are “lots of good reviews, and I like the rolling class schedule.”
Before attending BTC, Morgan graduated high school and the Mercer County Career Center. There, she studied healthcare careers while also working at McDonald’s.
“The environment and staff are very friendly,” said Morgan when asked about her favorite part of attending classes at Boardman Training Center.
Morgan says her favorite class was phlebotomy. “I love how hands-on it was and the pace that you learn at. It was a very welcome challenge,” said Morgan.
Students learn various real-world skills as they complete their cardio phlebotomy courses at BTC. Performing EKGs, drawing blood, controlling infections, and practicing fundamental patient care are all skills students have the opportunity to practice.
Now that she has completed her cardio phlebotomy classes, Morgan says her ideal job is to work at a dialysis center or as a phlebotomist in a lab.
In five years, Morgan would like to have her own apartment with a rescue dog while working full-time at a job she loves.
When asked if she would refer Boardman Training Center to a friend, Morgan says, “Absolutely! There isn’t anything at BTC where the staff won’t work with you to fit your needs.”
