Hands-On Medical Assistant Training
BTC’s medical assistant training program is designed to provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills required to become a medical assistant. From medical terminology to minor clinical procedures and basic administrative tasks, you will complete the program with a well-rounded medical assisting knowledge.
At Boardman Training Center, we believe in learning by doing. That’s why our program highlights the importance of hands-on learning under the guidance of experienced instructors. As a medical assistant student at BTC, you will practice medical procedures such as phlebotomy, injections, basic wound care, vital signs, suture removal, and more in a simulated medical environment. This hands-on teaching method prepares students for the real-world challenges of a medical career. Our instructors also provide guidance and support to help students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in the medical field.
In addition to the comprehensive medical assistant training that students at BTC receive, they will also become prepared to sit for two industry-specific National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification* exams: the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)* exam and the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA)* exam.
Obtaining an NHA certification proves to employers that you have gained the skills and knowledge to do the medical assistant job with confidence and competence. Furthermore, an NHA certification also helps to set you apart from other medical assistant candidates, as employers recognize the hard work and dedication you have put into obtaining this credential.
