Meet Iesha Guzzo, our student highlight feature this week here at Boardman Training Center!
Iesha is currently enrolled in the Cardio Phlebotomy career training program at BTC. As she completes her healthcare classes, Iesha will gain vital knowledge and practice hands-on skills that she will use in her new healthcare career.
Before attending healthcare training classes at BTC, Iesha was a full-time mommy. “Now that my kids are older, I was ready to focus on myself and my future. I felt like BTC would be the perfect fit for my life at the moment, with faster results, smaller classes, and a comfortable setting for me to get back in school,” said Iesha.

Iesha says she chose the Cardio Phlebotomy program because it’s a combination of both things she wants to do, EKGs and phlebotomy. “I was first very interested in EKGs, then I started phlebotomy, and I absolutely love it! It’s a win, win!” said Iesha.
While enrolled in her cardio phlebotomy classes, Iesha will learn important skills like performing EKGs, drawing blood, and completing venipuncture procedures. Iesha will prepare for professional healthcare certifications as she practices these essential skills, including Certified Phlebotomy Technician* and Certified EKG Technician*.
When asked what her favorite part is of attending Boardman Training Center, Iesha says that it’s the people. “The classes are fun, and the people make it more fun and enjoyable to come and learn. Hands-on classes are also a major plus.”
Iesha says that all of her teachers and her classes are her favorite. “They make it fun, educational, and they’re always understanding.” She continued, “They’re helpful, and they never make you feel out of place.”
After she graduates from the Cardio Phlebotomy training program at Boardman Training Center, Iesha wants to put her schooling and education to use and work in a lab.
In five years, Iesha wants to have an associate degree in science and work toward her bachelor’s degree. She wants to work in a lab as a lab technologist.
When asked if she would refer Boardman Training Center to a friend, Iesha says, “Absolutely! If you are looking for a fast, affordable, and fun environment, BTC is it.”
