Meet Kenzie Diver
Kenzie Diver is Boardman Training Center’s (BTC) featured graduate for the month of May! Kenzie graduated from BTC’s Medical Assisting Specialist program. She learned skills in a wide range of topics, including injections, suture removal, oral medical, and so much more, that have prepared her to be an essential member of any healthcare team.
In this blog, learn more about Kenzie and her journey to becoming a medical assistant with BTC’s medical assisting training program.
Life Before BTC
Before attending Boardman Training Center, Kenzie had not pursued education past her high school diploma. She was incredibly busy helping out her family. Her family owns a business, and she runs the office. Her experience in this fast-paced environment helped prepare her for the accelerated pace of BTC’s training programs.
Kenzie chose BTC for three very good reasons. Number 1: The class sizes were smaller, which allowed her to get the individualized attention that she wanted while continuing her education. Number 2: The program is just 12 weeks long. She was prepared to sit for her certification exams and be career-ready in just three months! Number 3: She had read good reviews on Google about BTC and knew it was the place for her.
Kenzie’s Medical Assisting Experience
Kenzie decided to pursue completing Boardman Training Center’s Medical Assisting Specialist program. She chose medical assisting because BTC students “Learn multiple skills that are beneficial for any career.” Her favorite course during the program was the medical assisting class. She liked that “You learned several different skills in one.” Medical assisting students learn skills that prepare them to work in a variety of environments, including clinics, hospitals, doctors’ offices, labs, etc.
Kenzie’s favorite part of the program was “Becoming friends with my classmates and going through the experience with them.” The people you surround yourself with can significantly impact your experiences. In Kenzie’s case, it made her experience a more positive one. Having those perfect study buddies can make even the most tedious topic seem fun.
What’s Next?
Ideally, Kenzie’s career path will lead her to a job where she can work in “Primary care, pediatrics, or a gynecologist’s office.” Her dream job, though, is to work in a gynecologist’s office.
Looking to the future, when asked about what Kenzie would like her next few years to be like, she said, “Stable with a long-lasting career as a medical assistant.”
The journey was rewarding because Kenzie not only gained new skills but also gained new friends. She said the most rewarding part of her time at Boardman Training Center was “Learning things to help me succeed in the medical assisting career and making life-long friends during it.”
Become a Medical Assistant!
When asked if she’d refer BTC to a friend, she said, “Yes! The small classes are helpful, and you’ll get the certifications you’ll need in 12 weeks.” Those 12 weeks go by fast, though. Her advice? “Study! It’s only a 12-week program, but you learn a lot in a short amount of time.”
