Celebrate Working Parents Day with BTC

Celebrate Working Parents Day with BTC Thumbnail ImageSeptember 16th is Working Parents Day

Working Parents Day, celebrated annually on September 16th, recognizes the dedication, hard work, and perseverance of parents who balance careers with the many responsibilities of family life. For working parents, finding time to pursue a new career or continue their education can feel like one more challenge to add to an already busy schedule.

At Boardman Training Center (BTC), we understand that our students have responsibilities outside the classroom. That’s why we offer career-focused training options designed to provide flexibility while helping students work toward their professional goals. Continue reading this blog to learn more about how BTC supports working parents.

Find a Program That Works With Your Schedule

One of the biggest challenges for working parents returning to school is finding a program that fits their existing schedule. Traditional education can sometimes require a significant time commitment, making it difficult to balance school with work and family.

For many working parents, time is one of their most valuable resources. Spending several years in school may not be realistic when you are already balancing a career and family.

Boardman Training Center offers short-term career training programs you can complete in 12 weeks or less. This accelerated approach allows students to focus on the skills and knowledge they need for their chosen career without committing to a traditional multi-year degree program.

Whether you are looking to enter healthcare for the first time, change careers, or build on skills you already have, a short-term training program may help you reach your goals sooner. This flexibility can make it easier to fit school into your existing routine while still gaining the hands-on experience you need to prepare for your future career.

Gain Hands-On Experience

Online learning can provide flexibility, but working parents may also want an educational experience that prepares them for the realities of their future careers. That’s why hands-on training is an important part of our programs. Our programs provide students with career-specific knowledge and hands-on experience to prepare them to sit for their certification* exam and start a new career in just weeks.

We offer online and hybrid options for students in Ohio, giving working parents more flexibility as they complete their education. Our Medical Billing and Coding Specialist program is fully online, while our Phlebotomy, EKG, and Medical Assisting Specialist programs combine online coursework with in-person labs.

Our hybrid programs allow students to complete portions of their coursework online while coming to campus for hands-on labs. These experiences give students opportunities to practice skills, become familiar with equipment, and apply what they have learned in a practical setting.

For parents considering a career in healthcare, gaining this experience before entering the workforce can help build confidence and prepare you for the responsibilities of your new career.

Get Personalized Support Along the Way

Going back to school while working and raising a family can be challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone. Having faculty and staff who understand your goals can make a difference throughout your education.

At BTC, we provide smaller class sizes and personalized instruction to help students stay engaged and supported. Our instructors are available to answer questions, provide guidance, and help students develop the skills they need to succeed.

We know that every student has a different schedule and different responsibilities. Our goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students can focus on building their futures while managing the other important parts of their lives.

Your Career Goals Are Still Within Reach

Working parents often spend much of their time supporting everyone else. Between providing for their families and managing everyday responsibilities, it’s easy to put personal career goals at the bottom of the list.

Working Parents Day reminds us to recognize everything working parents accomplish while also taking a moment to consider their own goals. If you’ve been thinking about changing careers, gaining new skills, or pursuing a career in healthcare, you don’t necessarily have to choose between your education and your responsibilities at home.

With flexible online and hybrid options, short-term programs, hands-on training, and personalized support, career training can provide a practical path toward your next opportunity.
