Hands-On Skills
For students looking to enter a career in healthcare, choosing a program that allows them to gain experience quickly can significantly benefit them. BTC students spend the majority of their time in school practicing the skills needed to do the job well.
With training in phlebotomy, EKG, medical assisting, and medical billing and coding, Boardman Training Center has you covered for a variety of in-demand healthcare roles. Students can expect to develop a strong foundation through practical training, preparing them to perform essential tasks such as drawing blood, conducting cardiovascular testing, and managing patient records with confidence. This focused approach ensures that graduates are well-equipped for employment opportunities after graduation.
Classroom Instruction
At Boardman Training Center, students can expect to learn the essential knowledge for their careers and then practice these skills using real-world medical equipment in our facilities. Not only does this prepare them for what they will encounter in their future careers, but it also allows them to become familiar with and practice proper care of medical equipment under the supervision of our experienced instructors. The instructors at BTC care about each student’s success and will work with them one-on-one to ensure they get the most out of their training experience.
BTC understands that students lead busy lives and must balance their personal and work obligations with their school commitments. This is why Boardman Training Center offers evening and weekend classes, allowing students to complete their training program without sacrificing other aspects of their lives.
Certification Preparation
Another major benefit of attending the Boardman Training Center is that industry-specific certification* preparation is incorporated directly into the curriculum. This means that at the end of their program, each student will be prepared to sit for the corresponding National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification exam(s). Healthcare employers can sometimes see hundreds of resumes for one specific position, but obtaining NHA certifications in a specific field can help you stand out among the crowd.
BTC’s training programs prepare students for the following NHA certifications:
- Medical Billing and Coding Specialist – Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS)*
- Medical Assisting Specialist – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)*, Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA)*
- Phlebotomy – Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)*
- EKG – Certified EKG Technician (CET)*
