Choosing BTC
When asked why she chose Boardman Training Center, April shared, “It’s near places I visit, and it’s convenient.” Having a campus that fits naturally into her routine made a meaningful difference, allowing her to focus on her education without adding unnecessary stress to her schedule. The accessible location helped her stay consistent and motivated, making it easier to balance her training with other everyday commitments. For April, that convenience created the stability she needed to stay on track and confidently pursue her goals.
April decided to pursue both the Phlebotomy and EKG programs. Motivated by curiosity and a desire to explore a healthcare career, she followed her passions when choosing her path. “It just looked fun to do,” she explained. That sense of excitement quickly grew into a meaningful educational experience, helping her build skills, confidence, and connections for her future.
April’s BTC Experience
From supportive instructors to a welcoming learning environment, April found encouragement at every step. She describes her experience as incredibly rewarding. “I had the best time with instructors and classmates, and I’ve made some new friends,” she said. April shared that her favorite part of attending Boardman Training Center was “the family we have here. Seeing people happy for their success.” She found everyone encouraging and genuinely supportive.
“I love all the amazing people I’ve met on this journey. They inspire me to become a better version of myself.” Sharing milestones and celebrating accomplishments together built a strong sense of connection, making the experience feel more personal and encouraging. For April, being surrounded by supportive peers at Boardman Training Center who uplift one another and celebrate each step forward made her training journey especially meaningful and rewarding.
When asked if she has a favorite class, April said, “I don’t have a favorite because everyone at BTC is amazing.” For her, each class offered something valuable, from hands-on learning experiences to meaningful interactions with instructors and classmates.
Rather than one standout moment, she appreciated the consistent encouragement and positivity she felt throughout her time at Boardman Training Center. That supportive atmosphere made every class feel engaging and worthwhile, helping her stay motivated, confident, and excited about her progress. “BTC has taught me many things that will help me excel,” she shared.
What’s Next?
Continuing her education at Kent State University, April is taking the next step toward her long-term career goal and pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). She shared that she will “practice phlebotomy while attending college for my BSN,” gaining real-world experience while advancing her education. By building on the skills she developed at BTC, she hopes to strengthen both her confidence and clinical knowledge along the way.
Looking ahead five years, April shares, “I would love to be financially independent and in good health.” She envisions building a stable future for herself through a meaningful healthcare career while maintaining a strong focus on personal well-being. As she continues her education and gains hands-on experience in the field, April hopes to grow both professionally and personally. For her, success means not only achieving career goals but also creating a balanced, healthy life she can feel proud of every day.
