Meet The Featured Student of The Month at Boardman Training Center!
Boardman Training Center is thrilled to introduce our featured student of the month, Allison Woolensack!
Allison is a current student in BTC’s Cardio Phlebotomy program, where she is learning valuable hands-on skills that she can apply to her future career, including electrocardiograms (EKGs), blood drawing, patient care, infection control, and more!
Allison chose to attend Boardman Training Center because of our hands-on approach to education and the campus in Boardman, Ohio. “It’s the best option for what I was looking for,” she says. “Online courses didn’t have the option for “sticking.”
Allison relied on her passion for helping others when deciding which program to pursue. She says she has always wanted a career in the medical field because she loves helping people, particularly children. “Being able to help a child by making them feel better is a good feeling,” Allison says. “Pediatrics is something I’ve always wanted to be in.”
The small-school atmosphere that Boardman Training Center offers is another reason Allison is enjoying her time as a student. She appreciates how supportive the teachers, faculty, and other students are. “I can come here and not worry about feeling left out. They’re all supportive, and I can be myself around everyone.” She would recommend BTC to a friend because of how easy the instructors make it to understand the material, the affordability, and the convenient location.

Choosing Boardman Training Center to complete your education will allow you to explore multiple areas of the medical field while preparing you to sit for certain industry-specific National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification* exams.
As Allison completes her Cardio Phlebotomy program training, she will be prepared to sit for both the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)* and Certified EKG Technician (CET)* certification exams, giving her an advantage when looking for a position in the field after graduation. In addition, she hopes her experience at Boardman Training Center will allow her to become more financially stable with a better-paying job and overall happier and more successful life.

Boardman Training Center students benefit from academic, personal, and career support to help ensure they get the most out of their education experience. From the first time you speak to our admissions team member, BTC will help you establish a plan to achieve your goals, whatever they might be.
Then, we help you implement your plan with our accelerated, hands-on training programs in Phlebotomy Technician, EKG Technician, or Cardio Phlebotomy. Students will also work with the BTC Director’s office to create a customized financial plan that helps students achieve their goal of a career in healthcare without the need for student loans.
Boardman Training Center’s instructors, faculty, and staff give each student the tools they need to succeed. However, it is the student’s responsibility to use those tools to get the most out of their education experience. In Allison’s words, “Take the time to come to class, put effort into studying, and actively try to pay attention. It’s a lot of stuff to learn in so little time.”
